I am going to take the test tonight and with a little luck I'll be able to land the job so I have some additional cash flow for the next few months.
The door-to-door gig isn't my thing, so I'll have to score well on the test if I want an office position.
Have any of you guys ever worked for the Census? Participated willingly when someone has come to your door? Have a zany story about an encounter with a Census worker? Spill it!

I have never participotatoed in the census. My parents filled it out when I was younger. Guess this is the first decade I get to do that!

I had the most persistent census worker recently, she was doing an employment survey for Brueau of Statistics. She had to monitor our household for about a few months. She only needed 5 minutes of my time every time, but she had an awful habit of ringing in the worst times at work, or in the middle of a game or when I'm driving. I wasn't intentionally avoiding her, but I began to resent her making me feel bad for not being able to help her.
also, my idiot housemates were being drama queens about how hard they were trying to avoid this census worker. She's not a salesperson, just answer her question and move on. People are morons

Ooh! I'm writing a Christmas pageant with a census worker in it. If you get any good census stories, let me know.

Will do!
They actually cancelled the test tonight because the testing site is still without power due to the snow storm over the weekend. It's been rescheduled to Wednesday night.
As you were.
